Established in 2009, the Department of Pharmacy Practice has been a cornerstone of pharmacy education, shaping students into skilled healthcare professionals. The department focuses on comprehensive medication management and exceptional patient care, while nurturing leadership skills and a commitment to lifelong learning. Our mission is to achieve sustained excellence in educating and training pharmacy graduates and postgraduates to meet the nation’s evolving pharmaceutical healthcare needs. Our alumni excel in diverse fields such as community/retail pharmacy, hospitals, industry, academia, and research. Notably, our students have secured two university-level gold medals and have consistently achieved 100% academic results every year. The Department of Pharmacy Practice emphasizes patient-centered care through hospital and clinical pharmacy services. Education & Research

Education Fostering an environment designed to expand knowledge on the rational use of medications: Educating patients and healthcare professionals on the safe use of medications. Providing community health education programs to prevent disease and promote wellness. Ensuring high-quality care by educating students, residents, fellows, and staff.

Research Empowering sound decision-making through evidence-based medicine and research: Conducting research to improve safety and efficiency in medication systems. Identifying the most cost-effective medication strategies using research methods. Encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration for innovative research.

Lab Facilities

The Pharmacy Practice Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to support the learning and development of students. With over 60 computers featuring the latest configurations and high-speed internet connectivity, students have the tools they need to enhance their practical knowledge. The labs are centrally air-conditioned, ensuring a comfortable and conducive learning environment. In addition, the department offers easy access to modern software and resources, making it an ideal setting for students to engage in practical sessions and research, preparing them for a successful career in healthcare. The department is well-equipped with more than 60 computers with the latest configurations and centralized AC facilities in all the labs. All computers are connected to high-speed internet and are accessible at any time. We also have a dedicated Drug Information Centre to support students in enhancing their knowledge and practical skills. We provide access to LEXICOMP—a drug information software—available for all students both inside and outside the campus. This system provides in-depth information on drugs and serves as a valuable tool for students, helping them to expand their knowledge and become well-versed healthcare professionals.
